Wound Care
Compression is often the first treatment for the chronic venous insufficiency and venous ulceration. Compression therapy aims to encourage rapid ulcer healing and prevent recurrences. Compression therapy improves wound healing by decreasing venous reflux, supporting the venous return, increasing blood flow and decreasing swelling by encouraging fluid to move into lymphatic channels. With compression, the increased external pressure decreases the leakage of fluid into the skin, allowing the skin to receive the oxygen and nutrients required for wound healing.
Here at Tipptoes, we offer a wide range of compression garments in many different denivers, colours and styles in addition to a variety of velcro devices to help meet your wound care compression needs. We do recommend that a professional take your measurements to ensure that your compression garment/device is the correct size, type and compression class for you.
